Anti-spyware, anti-malware, anti-virus and firewall related software on this page involves payments via various methods.

Protecting your P.C. from spyware, viruses, malware and identity theft has become big business and there is plenty of software to choose from. The good news is that there are hundreds of companies competing for your custom and this allows you to get the best deals at the best prices for your anti-spyware and malware removal programs. Choosing the right software for your computer is not easy and it might involve a little research to find out if what the vendors say about their product really holds water. First you must decide what you want and to what level of security you need, then draw up a list of software that fits your requirements.

I am told by others that it is wise to get the best security you can afford but this does not mean that the most expensive is the best. You can get software for free or with reduced functionality that is just as good as the more expensive counterparts. Reduced functionality in some case might only be that you have to physically download updates and remember to do it regularly. Not a great hardship and choosing a combination of paid and free software will at least make it a bit easier on the finances.

If on the other hand you do not have the time to research the software then feel free to choose something from the software listed on this page. A good point to remember is that all types of software have a specific function and choosing a piece of software that is excellent as a stand alone product but might not be as good in a bundled software package. Also if the budget can stand it you might want to buy separate software for different functions. For example buy a stand alone anti-virus software to deal with viruses, an anti-spyware to combat spyware etc.

I am not saying do not buy a security suit as the can represent good value for money and it is just one piece of software to look after and update. Should you have a problem with the software due to an infection on your P.C. you might find that the the software is not in a position to function whilst individual software might still be able to work on the task of removing the infection. I personally like the option of avoiding the 'eggs in one basket' scenario as I speak from past experiences.

Spyware curse

Every day the curse of spyware is getting worse. The amount of threats from viruses, trojans and malware that spring up daily are increasing at a frightening pace and it makes you wonder if the good software (free or paid) that is available is able to cope.

As it is most of the software is always one step behind the rogue software and the various companies and individuals involved with defeating the attacks have to wait for the attacks to materialize first before they can get to work and counteract them.

Trying to combat the bad software is hard enough as it is but the advent of malicious software that hoodwinks people in to buying their software after deliberately infecting the machine in the first place is adding to the woes.

I speak from experience as I and a friend of mine have both been on the receiving end of the Windows XP 2008/2009 virus that loads infections on you P.C. and then demands payment to remove it.

It took a lot of hard work and self help,

software to remove the infection. Both sets of software can be found on this page further down below or via the links above.

I am deeply indebted to the likes of Gary R and his fellow individuals that spend vast amounts of their time to fighting malware and assisting members of the public who have been infected. An long may it continue.

Since then I have take to regularly updating my anti-malware software to prevent another infection and it is something I recommend that all the on-line community do as well.

Happy surfing.
